We need to advise everybody who attended the Radford Race meeting on 11 July 2021 that a competitor at this meeting has reported that he and his son have tested positive for Covid-19 during the week following the meeting. We would like to reassure everyone that, due to the outdoor nature of the event and the precautions taken to ensure that those attending were not crowded into confined spaces, there is minimal risk that the virus was transmitted during the event. We strongly recommend that anybody who thinks they may have come into contact with the competitor concerned should voluntarily acquire and take an instant "Lateral Flow Test" and take appropriate action to isolate in the unlikely event of a positive result. However, our understanding is that anybody who has been identified as a close contact of the person concerned would already have been contacted by the NHS Track and Trace service and advised accordingly. Please note that both North Shropshire BAS and Southern League UKAC Round are asking drivers who attended the above event to take a Lateral Flo Test before arriving at their venues and provide evidence on arrival of a negative result.

NASA is pleased to confirm that we'll be welcoming non member spectators back to Autograss meetings with effect from 1 July 2021. That date has been chosen because it's the week after the first BAS and UKAC rounds for which detailed plans have been agreed with the series and the host clubs. All meetings will still be subject to limits on total attendance, which will be set in conjunction with clubs to suit each venue and continuing national or local restrictions. For that reason we're advising that pre-registration for both competitors and spectators will continue to be the main means of entry. If there is still capacity after advance entry has closed, clubs will be able to accept a limited number of entries at the gate, subject to suitable track and trace procedures. We're now updating our detailed guidance which we expect to issue next week to cover all five nations' current conditions. There'll be updates soon about the National Championships after the impact of the latest changes by the English government have been reviewed with the host club. NASA will continue to respect and enforce any travel guidance issued by national and regional governments. Unfortunately this means that, due to Irish government policy, anyone living in Southern Ireland is currently not permitted to attend Autograss events in mainland Britain.

With the return of competitive sport in Southern Ireland, NASA are now in a position to sanction events in Southern Ireland again. Events should be held to Government and NASA guidelines

You should all be aware that NASA authorised race meetings, at least until the lifting of restrictions which is provisionally promised to England on 21 June, are being run as closed events, with only licenced members being admitted and with the number of people on site controlled by pre-entry. This doesn’t suit everyone, but is absolutely necessary for clubs to be able to hold events within our interpretation of the law, as it stands. We’ve unfortunately become aware of a few incidents of these conditions being breached, with individuals attempting to access events where they were not registered. This is a very serious matter as it puts the host club at risk of penalties and jeopardises NASA’s ability to authorise events, which are dependent on compliance with our detailed and robust risk assessments. Offenders to date have been dealt with by the clubs and leagues concerned, with penalties including bans from race venues and withdrawal of members’ licences. Any future incidents will be subject to full NASA disciplinary procedures, with penalties up to a three year ban from holding any form of NASA licence. These penalties will extend to members considered to have aided and abetted an attempt to breach NASA’s covid guidelines. We’re sorry to have to take these steps, but we must act to enforce what we hope will be short term restrictions. Like all of you, we look forward to the ever closer day when Autograss events will again be open and welcoming to all, but until then we must protect the sport and our members and comply with government guidelines.
